TAMAR “Miss T” NUSSBACHER Music and Portrait Photographer “I’m a moment stealer.”
Born in Israel to Romanian parents, Tamar “Miss T” Nussbacher moved to London, aged 20, to study photography at City of Westminster College - and immediately cut her teeth shooting for the London Hip Hop Festival. Inspired by her father’s paintings and photos and her music teacher mother’s ear for beautiful sounds, Miss T has always desired to work with music and photography. “It’s the way I express myself, the way I see things or the way I feel things. I’m not very good with words but I see things.”
Her very first camera was a hand-me-down, “A very old Nikon… I loved it,” she recalls. “The camera that used to belong to my Dad, that went to my brother and my brother gave it to me - and somebody stole it from me!” Since buying herself a new camera Miss T has shot the esteemed likes of Raphael Saadiq, Mos Def, Van Hunt, Angie Stone, Little Dragon, Buju Banton, Asher D, Ice T, Guru, Blu, Ta’Raach, Rich Medina, Robert Glasper, Alain Clark, Anthoney Wright, Aloe Blacc, Nneka, Ginuwine, Benga, Musiq Soulchild, Yarah Bravo, Stacey Epps, Natalie Williams, Nate James, Vula, Rope Chain Spiller Kidz, Tippa Irie and TOK.
Miss T is Head Photographer for online magazine SoulCulture “http://www.soulculture.co.uk” and her work has also been published in Time Out, The Big Issue, MySpace UK: The Hook Up, Undercover magazine, Black Sheep magazine, Interact magazine, Origins Media and Gargamel magazine. “In my everyday life all the time I see Kodak moments. I just love people. I find them beautiful in a non-fashionable way.” |
